Ritz-Carlton, Central Park
New YorkBuilt in 1929 and fronting directly onto the southern edge of Central Park, the St. Moritz has long been one of New York's best-known hotels. A complete renovation modernized this 34-story structure. Renovations stripped all existing systems exclusive of the steel structure while maintaining the exterior skin and detail. Work also included replacing existing terracotta details and rebuilding the upper level exterior structure. Incremental additions to the south side enlarged the floor plate and enhanced condominium layouts. A new central atrium is now the focus of the entry lobby. Other amenities include a restaurant, spa, and meeting rooms. The building features a five-star, 277-key Ritz-Carlton hotel and 11 luxury condominiums overlooking Central Park.
